Dr. Ivo Ganchev Presents Investment Opportunities in Bulgaria on CGTN Radio
Dr. Ivo Ganchev, a London and Beijing-based consultant, executive, and expert in International Relations, and the Vice-Chairman of the Bulgaria-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI), was interviewed by CGTN Radio on October 17, 2023, ahead of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Forum that took place in Beijing from October 20 to 21, 2023.
In the interview, Dr. Ganchev highlighted the potential and the benefits of bilateral cooperation between Bulgaria and China under the framework of the BRI, a global infrastructure development initiative adopted by the Chinese government in 2013 to invest in more than 150 countries and international organizations.
In the interview, Dr. Ganchev said:
“Over the years, Bulgaria has welcomed many Chinese companies that create employment and new opportunities in the country. Some of them have been operating there for a number of years, such as technology companies, including Huawei, Xiaomi and ZTE. Other companies have entered Bulgaria more recently as part of a greater focus on internationalization of their operations.
Of course, this has been greatly encouraged and facilitated by the BRI and we’ve seen companies such as the spirits and liquor brand Moutai and the automotive company Haval.
We hope to see many similar companies come to Bulgaria in the next few years as well. Our country offers excellent opportunities for industrial manufacturing and we can also serve as a key logistics hub. I hope that these Chinese companies will continue to explore these types of opportunities in the future.”
As the Vice-Chairman of BCCCI, Dr. Ganchev and his team organize various events and activities, such as seminars, workshops, trade fairs, and business delegations, to foster mutual understanding and cooperation between the Bulgarian and Chinese business communities.
He remains optimistic about the future of Bulgaria-China economic relations. He hopes that the two countries will continue to develop their partnership through continuous collaboration and partnership, enabling more companies to develop more concrete projects and initiatives that would benefit both countries and the world.
