Presentation on Latin American Integration at the WISC 2022 Conference
The World International Studies Committee (WISC) organizes one of the largest and most esteemed events in the field of International Studies. Their flagship conference is a triannual event, which attracts a broad range of scholars from all regions of the world to present and discuss state-of-the art research in their respective fields of specialism. This year, the conference took place from June 29 to July 1 through a hybrid mode online and on site in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It was a pleasure and a privilege for me to discuss my work at the Centre for Regional Integration with a highly esteemed panel, entitled Multiple Regionalisms in South America. My presentation included comparative analysis of Latin American integration projects, as well as a historical discussion of different regionalism models. It sought to reveal and pinpoint processual patterns of regional integration which take place across various sub-regions of Latin America.
The feedback and insights of leading scholars on the research project I lead was invaluable and I am very grateful to the entire panel, including: Isaac Flores Delgado (Universidad Del Mar), Roberto Dominguez (Suffolk University), Enzo Gustavo Pontoriero (UCEMA, Argentina), Jose Antonio Sanahuja (Compultense University), Florencia Julieta Lagar and Daniela Vanessa Perrotta). It was truly exciting to learn about everyone’s latest research!
Following this conference, my research on this topic continues rigorously and it will soon reveal innovative theoretical insights in the field of regional integration. I look forward to further engagement with my colleagues at upcoming events in 2023!
